A Foggy Morning at Baker Beach

I met Hilary and Patrick on a foggy fall morning at Baker Beach in San Francisco.

When we first arrived, there was a bit of sun and a partial view of the Golden Gate Bridge. But within minutes, the fog rolled in completely and the entire beach shifted.

It ended up being one of those sessions where you stop trying to “make” anything happen and just let the weather lead.

And honestly, it was perfect.

We laughed a lot. Ran along the shoreline. Let the wind take over. Nothing felt posed or overly directed. Just natural movement, and the kind of ease that makes film photography so special.

Hilary and Patrick are beach people. They met in San Francisco nearly a decade ago, so it felt only right that we photographed this next chapter of their story by the ocean.

Now they’re getting ready to welcome their first baby and they already know this little one is going to be a beach baby too.

There’s something really beautiful about going back to the place where it all started, especially in a moment like this.

Soft fog, salt air, and a growing family.
